We howl

And charge

And reach

And strive,

Pushing and straining

Against the skies.

We moan and grope

And yes we cope

Trying to catch life

In a reeling rope.

We are flash-fighters

Nail-biters

Fire-igniters

And we hope…

That we can sustain

And keep what we gain

And just breathe through

One more day.

We are crag-crawling,

City-sprawling

Sky-falling

Creatures of light.

We are dare devil

Never-say-never-will,

Unforgettable

Fighters in flight.

And we hold together

With dust and glue,

A passing glance,

So simple and true.

We’re the last defense

For the Innocence

Of the ones we lost

In the night.

We whole-hearted,

Dear-departed,

Not yet started,

Future kings.

We godly,

mighty,

fragile beings,

That fall from heaven

and wish for wings.
