I’ve walked a thousand miles through desert heat

I’ve died and lived again through sleepless nights

I’ve given up the shoes upon my feet

To stand upon this battlefield and fight.

I’ve cried an ocean so that I could swim

To islands where no human being has lived

And worked in sun that blackened all my skin

To prove that I had even more to give.

I’ve faced the Devil, following his track

To Hades, where he almost had me beat

But fought and won, and carried on my back

Each captured angel from that deadly heat.

So this I say to you, my proof is done-

For in my heart, my victory is won.
